Lake of the Woods

Lake of the Woods is a large body of water that is located where Ontario meets Manitoba, and extends down into Minnesota.

This beautiful lake is over 110 km long, has over 14,000 islands, and is home to many different animals and species of fish, including Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch, Crappie, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Lake Trout, Lake Sturgeon, Whitefish, Suckers, and of course, the popular Muskellunge (otherwise known as Muskies).

Some residents of Kenora are lucky enough to live right on Lake of the Woods and can enjoy the scenic views and great fishing all year round - they can even drive a boat to Safeway to do their shopping!

If you are looking for a beautiful waterfront property, then you are in luck!

There are many great areas to buy a waterfront home on Lake of the Woods, while still being relatively close to Kenora for all the amenities.

Rush Bay and Clearwater Bay are also beautiful spots on Lake of the Woods, and are located between the Manitoba border and Kenora. These areas are perfect for those individuals that live in Manitoba and would like a shorter commute to their summer cabin, while still being near amenities.

Coney Island is another popular area for local residents and cottagers alike! This island is only a short boat ride away from downtown Kenora and even offers a footbridge in the winter months.

Island & Vacant Land

Those individuals who would like to be a bit more secluded, whilst still on Lake of the Woods, will be happy to hear about the many water-access-only islands available to buy!

Many of these islands are vacant and have plenty of space to dream and create your ideal slice of paradise!

Some islands have existing cabins and structures that are move-in ready for those looking for something more immediate, and of course, there is always the perfect combination of the two, an existing structure with a little TLC needed to create your perfect getaway.
